About Us
Maker’s Haven began in 2016 — in a small space with big ideas and dye-stained hands.
What started as a love of color and fiber quickly became something more: a place where stories could live not only on paper, but in wool and texture and hue. And then, like many good stories, there was an unexpected chapter break.
After a five year hiatus — and a life full of peaks, valleys, and the kind of growth that only comes through weathering storms — Maker’s Haven is returning. Softer in some ways. Stronger in others.
I am a writer, but I’ve never been able to keep my stories confined to pages. I am, at my core, a maker of things.
Yarn steeping in dye pots.
Pottery with clay under my nails.
Paint on old brushes.
If I can get my hands on it, I’ll try to create with it.
I’m also a single, homeschooling mom of three wildly creative children, and currently studying massage therapy as we build a new life — steady, intentional, and fresh — after a difficult season. Our home is full of books, color, theater scripts, half-finished projects, and a whole lot of resilience.
Dyeing yarn again feels like coming home.
Writing new books helps me breathe deep.
Weaving the two together feels exactly like the life I was meant to build.
Maker’s Haven isn’t just a shop. It’s a gathering place of second chances and brave beginnings.
I’m so glad you’re here.
Love, Amber
