They begin in paint—soft faces, steady gazes, stories just starting to surface on canvas paper.

And then, they’re held a little closer.

Thread follows line.

A sewing machine hums its way across the page, stitching presence into being—outlines, details, small intentional marks that say you were made with care.

Their hair is not painted, but gathered—hand-dyed yarn, chosen in strands and tones that feel like memory, like identity, like something you couldn’t quite replicate twice even if you tried. Ribbon finds its way in, soft and deliberate, like a finishing touch that isn’t really a finish at all.

Each one is a portrait of a maker. Not perfect—but never meant to be. There are no exact copies here. No clean symmetry. No expectation to be anything other than what they are: layered, textured, a little undone in places, and entirely whole because of it.

They feel like us. Like the version of you that creates. Like the version of me that kept going. Imperfectly perfect— not in spite of how they’re made, but because of it.
